Cheyenne Camping Center was founded in 1966 by the Frazer family. Today, Cheyenne Camping Center is located in Walcott, Iowa and has become one of the nation’s top performing and growing RV dealerships. We are looking for tradesman-like or mechanically inclined individuals of all experience levels to add to our team. Service take place indoors in our air-conditioned, heated, and well-lit shop. On average Spring/Summer (March to October) hours are from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Monday through Saturday and Fall/Winter (November to April) hours are from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm with rotation between Saturdays or mid-week days off every other week. Breaks include a 30 minute unpaid lunch and two paid 15 minute breaks that are scheduled.
Responsibilities Include:
- Produce high quality solutions and service for all Cheyenne Camping Center customers, co-workers, managers, and supervisors
- Communicate with experienced and inexperienced RV customers the diagnoses, solutions, and repairs needed to resolve their unit’s problem
- Enter accurate hours and parts for Repair Orders on a company provided cell phone and CRM system
- Accurately communicate with personnel on personal progress in addition to customer, quality, and safety concerns pertaining to the shop
- Work meticulously and promptly in independent and team settings on customer and company-related tasks
- Maintaining or exceeding a proper company image in relation to safety, tidy work areas, proper apparel, and appropriate language used in the workspace
- Communicate with the Parts Department and Service Manager on any necessary materials needed to accomplish a work related task
Candidate Requirements:
- A motivated individual that takes pride in their work while maintaining a good work ethic
- Experience or willingness to learn carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technical skills relevant to the RV industry
- RV certifications are a plus but not required
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company forklifts and vehicles
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to:
- Work with a team in regards to communication and meeting deadline expectations
- Get from home and work on days scheduled
- Use a company provided computer, spreadsheet, smartphone, and CRM system
- Work in tight and narrow spaces
- Lift and carry a minimum of 100 pounds
- Stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and crouch for extended periods of time
- Withstand harsh natural conditions such as humidity, extreme heat, and below freezing temperatures
- Perform in areas where squatting, heights, crawling, or crouching in tight areas are unavoidable
- Work in conditions that involve excess dust, loud noises, and wetness
- Use judgment when opening and maneuvering units in tight spaces
Candidate Requirements:
- Personal tools and tool boxes for all RV service and prep purposes aren’t necessary to start but are expected to be completed within the first few weeks of employment
