2026 Truck Camper Inventory at Cheyenne Camping Center in Walcott, IA

Our 2026 truck campers span three distinct builds: Hard-Side MAX for premium four-season comfort with an insulated heated basement, standard Hard-Side for lighter payload with the same welded aluminum frame, and Soft-Side pop-ups for the lightest setups and easiest storage. Every new truck camper in stock comes from Palomino, built to turn a pickup bed into a self-contained camping rig without the bulk of a trailer. Matching the right floorplan to your truck matters just as much as picking your favorite layout, so we’ll walk through each model before getting into payload math.

Hard-Side MAX

Premium Four-Season Comfort

Built for heavier-duty trucks and buyers who prioritize insulation, interior space, and extended off-grid stays.

Hard-Side

Traditional Cabin Feel

Full standing height and strong insulation with lower weight than the MAX series.

Soft-Side

Lightweight Pop-Up Flexibility

Lower travel profile, easier storage, and lighter weights for buyers prioritizing maneuverability.

2026 Palomino BackPack Hard-Side Models

Hard-side units trade some weight savings for full standing height, better insulation, and a more traditional cabin feel. They’re a strong fit if you’re chasing the best slide-in truck campers for colder climates or longer stays off the grid.

Hard-Side MAX

HS-3210

Approx. 3,618 lb UVW

The HS-3210 is our Hard-Side Max flagship, built for a 1-ton truck with a long 8-foot bed. It packs a single slide, full dry bath, and rear kitchen, plus two 32-inch HD TVs. UVW comes in around 3,618 lb.

Hard-Side MAX

HS-2910 Max

Approx. 3,393 lb UVW

The HS-2910 Max offers a single slide with a wet bath and a booth dinette that converts to sleeping space (optional theater seating swaps in too). A front queen bed rounds out the layout. UVW runs about 3,393 lb, and it needs at least a 1-ton truck.

Standard Hard-Side

HS-8801

Approx. 2,575 lb UVW

The HS-8801 skips the slide and gives you the most interior space in the standard Hard-Side series, with an 11 cu. ft. 12V refrigerator, an optional Euro Bunk, and an available short bed package. It shares the 400 watts of solar, 100-amp lithium battery, welded aluminum frame, and on-demand water heater found across the Hard-Side line. UVW comes in around 2,575 lb, fitting most 3/4-ton and larger trucks with 6.5-foot or 8-foot beds.

Lightweight Hard-Side

HS-750

Approx. 2,000 lb UVW

The HS-750 is our lightest hard-side option, with the same 400W solar and 100AH lithium setup as the HS-8801, plus an optional 11,000 BTU A/C. At roughly 2,000 lb UVW, it suits many 1/2-ton trucks with 5.5 to 8-foot beds.

2026 Palomino BackPack Pop-Up Models

If you’re browsing a pop up truck camper for sale because you want less weight and easier handling, the Soft-Side series is worth a look. These campers collapse for transit, then lift electrically to give you around 6 feet of headroom once parked.

Soft-Side Pop-Up

SS-1251

Approx. 1,911 lb UVW

The SS-1251 includes a wet bath with shower and toilet, a north/south bed, and a 55-inch one-piece entry door. It runs 400W solar and 100AH lithium, weighing in around 1,911 lb, and fits many 1/2-ton trucks with 6.5-foot beds.

Lightweight Soft-Side

SS-1200

Approx. 1,612 lb UVW

The SS-1200 drops the bathroom to save weight, landing at about 1,612 lb UVW. It still includes 400W solar (two 200W panels), 100AH lithium, and an aluminum frame, and works well with 1/2-ton trucks running 6.5 to 8-foot beds.

Soft-Side Weight Range

Across the Soft-Side series, dry weights run from about 1,419 lb on the SS-500 up to 1,911 lb on the SS-1251, and the 55-inch one-piece door is standard across the series.

Looking Ahead

Confirmed 2027 BackPack Models (HS-750 & SS-1251)

We already have two 2027 models locked in in our system. The 2027 HS-750 carries a UVW near 1,981 lb, and the 2027 SS-1251 comes in around 1,892 lb. Both keep the same lightweight, solar-and-lithium, off-grid-ready build that’s made these two floorplans popular in the current lineup.

Payload, Towing, and Financing Considerations

Matching Your Truck’s Payload Capacity

Your truck’s payload capacity matters more than the camper’s dry weight ever will. You need to account for the camper’s wet weight (water tanks filled, gear loaded) plus every passenger riding along. As a general guide: Soft-Side units like the SS-1251 suit many half-ton trucks, and the HS-750 fits similarly sized trucks too. The HS-8801 needs at least a 3/4-ton truck, while the Hard-Side Max models (HS-3210 and HS-2910 Max) require a 1-ton truck with a long bed. Most setups also need a tie-down system with turnbuckles, and air springs can help handling once loaded.

Before you buy, check your truck’s door-jamb sticker for the exact GVWR figure, then have our sales team confirm the match against your camper choice before finalizing anything. An overloaded truck handles differently and stops differently than one within its limits, so this step isn’t optional.
